The Assistance League Thrift Shop is a resale store, staffed and administered entirely by volunteers. The store is open year round and sells reasonably priced, gently used merchandise. Las Vegas is Getting Good
Local non-profit, Goodie Two Shoes Foundation, is hosting a huge rummage sale this Saturday, May 8, from 7:30 am to 11:30 am in the parking lot of the Southern Highlands Prep School at 11500 Southern Highlands Parkway.
Goodie Two Shoes is selling over 300 pairs of brand new shoes, including snowboarding boots, sandals, flipflops, baseball, football and track cleats, swim shoes and high heels. Local residents and merchants will also be onsite selling their own items, which can range anywhere from second hand personal items to handcrafted jewelry. You’ll just have to attend to see what’s up for grabs.
Established in 2003, Goodie Two Shoes is a Las Vegas-based 501(c)3 nonprofit charity that provides disadvantaged children and children in crisis with new shoes and socks as well as other items deemed essential for good health and positive development. Tales from the $1 Sale
In celebration of Earth Day, Buffalo Exchange stores across the nation held a special $1 Sale on select merchandise, including the Las Vegas location on Maryland Parkway and Flamingo. All sales from the $1 Sale benefited the Humane Society’s Don’t Trash Wildlife campaign.
With a crowd of people waiting anxiously outside the store, Buffalo Exchange employees brought out racks and bags of clothing each priced at only $1 a piece. Most shoppers were in a frenzy, grabbing a hold of as much apparel as they could, while others remained calm and polite, sorting through whatever was left over.
Seen at the $1 Sale were Joe’s Jeans, Miss Sixty denim, Michael Kors, bebe and more. I walked away with two vintage pieces, a top from Banana Republic and a handmade blouse from Filthy Mouth Clothing, with the original $100 price tag still attached.
Employees were helpful, friendly and fun. The sale lasted throughout the day, helping Las Vegas stay stylish and the environment stay clean.

Shopping Review: The Warehouse Sale
The Warehouse Sale made it to Las Vegas for President’s Day weekend, and I stopped by its temporary spot at the Palms Resort to check out what all the buzz was about. Featuring hot denim designers such as Frankie B., William Rast, Rock & Republic at just a fraction of the price, The Warehouse Sale is an event not to be missed by both men and women.
At this particular shopping event, not only did I find racks and racks of contemporary designer denim for men and women in all sizes and washes, I also found gorgeous camel colored wool coats from BCBGMAXAZRIA for only $99.99. Plus, I found dresses by the same label for $49.99 and dresses by French Connection for as low as $29.99. Other brands seen at this sale are a couple of Las Vegas’ favorites – Ed Hardy and Christian Audigier. All items were buy four, get the fifth item free.
The next time The Warehouse Sale expects to return to Las Vegas is in about three to four months. So if you missed this event, you definitely want to make the next one.
