Review: Martini Time with Chef Tina Martini
Martini Time with Chef Tina Martini is a Las Vegas show unlike any other. No scantily clad dancers. No music. No dancing. No A-list celebrity who later criticizes the audience to the media for not clapping enough. Unlike the typical Las Vegas show, Martini Time with Chef Tina Martini is a savory and educational experience of which you absolutely must partake.
First, the audience setting is set up much like a television studio, complete with an unseen announcer and cameras, so you can see every angle of the chef’s cooking. Next, there’s the chef herself. Tina Martini is as delightful, charming and enthusiastic as all the other chefs you see on television. What sets Tina apart from those celebrity chefs is that she’s here in Las Vegas, making her accessible (I hugged her after the show) and her live cooking show focuses on natural foods, easy recipes and food education. For example, Tina Martini taught us that grape seed oil can actually reverse damage on the arteries. Isn’t that amazing?
Prior to the show, and while selecting seats, the audience is greeted with handouts that include recipes and nutritional education. As the show begins, the audience is treated to a round of drinks, with the drink’s recipe included on the aforementioned handouts. Once the show starts, Tina takes her audience on an easy journey of cooking, information, tips and advice. She engages the audience, answering questions, quizzing them and recruiting volunteers.
While still finishing her recipe, the audience is given the end product to sample. The day this blogger visited the show, we learned how to cook Potato Leek Soup, which was brought to us to eat while Chef Tina continued to cook. It was beyond delicious, and I almost licked the bowl. But remembering my manners, I instead chose to attempt the recipe on a later date, which I did. And it turned out almost as good, proving Chef Tina’s theory that cooking is something anyone can do.
After the show, and after hugging the chef, audience members are taken to a reserved area of Studio B for a full buffet. I was actually quite filled from the soup, so I stuck with dessert and tea. But considering that the show, education, recipes, meal and drink during the show, and a full buffet after the show are included within the price of the ticket, it’s more than obvious that Martini Time with Chef Tina Martini at M Resort is a great Las Vegas show deal offering an amazing experience along with delectable food.

RTC’s New Ace in the Hole
The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) has just launched the ACE Gold Line and the ACExpress C-Line, both designed to improve transportation within the resort corridor and Downtown Las Vegas.
The ACE Gold Line connects the southern and central portions of The Las Vegas Strip with off-Strip locations, such as Downtown Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Convention Center. It was created to serve longer trips, and those commuters interested in shorter trips from one Strip location to another should still depend upon the Deuce.
The ACExpress C-Line provides express service from Centennial Hills to Downtown Las Vegas, The Strip (at Spring Mountain Road) and UNLV. In the resort corridor, the express service from Downtown to The Strip at Spring Mountain Road provides ultimate transit connection between these two important areas.
These additional commuter lines are really important to Las Vegas. One of the biggest complaints of living in Las Vegas is lack of public transportation. More and more people relocate to Vegas from cities such as Chicago, New York and San Francisco where commuting is a regular part of one’s lifestyle. For many, using public transportation for long trips is simply more efficient and greener.
Second, these new lines give tourists more access to Las Vegas’ growing downtown area. Downtown and Arts District merchants are struggling to stay alive in today’s challenging economy, and the ACE Gold Line and ACExpress C-Line can now take massive amounts of visitors who have always wanted to explore the world beyond The Strip as well as Las Vegas locals in the Summerlin and Centennial Hills areas who long to experience First Friday to the Arts District and Downtown areas, thus benefiting merchants eager to attract new customers.

Store Review: Indian River Gallery
Who says Las Vegas lacks art and culture? While this sinfully wonderful city is mostly known for exciting gambling and top-notch entertainment, Vegas is indeed home to some impressive galleries and talented local artists.
Located within the walkways of Miracle Mile at planet hollywood is Indian River Gallery – the only Five Star Museum Quality gallery in its class and featuring only one-of-a-kind pieces. It is a pure treasure in Las Vegas. Prices range from $15 and up, and customers vary from walk-in tourists attracted to the beauty of the store to serious collectors who invest in pieces intended to stay within the family forever.
“Each piece is one-of-a-kind and hand made,” said Hillary Noles, Gallery Manager. “And there’s symbolism in everything, so to our clients the pieces mean something personal.” From hand carved fetishes to pottery, jewelry, bronze artwork, paintings and more, customers discover delightfully beautiful Native American art at Indian River Gallery.
But if you don’t live in Las Vegas or can’t make it here, yet you desire to get your hands on some of the wonderful pieces at Indian River Gallery, shopping online is an option. You would be in good company, too, as celebrities are known to shop here. “In fact, we just got a new online client… Eric Clapton,” reported Timothy Hancock, Project Manager.
Often featured in magazines such as Cowboys & Indians and Luxury Las Vegas, the popularity of Indian River Gallery continues to grow. Having been a Miracle Mile merchant for the past four years, the gallery is owned by Dick and Mary Cabela (of Cabela’s fame) and is considered to be their “other passion.”
One of the most interesting aspects of Indian River Gallery is their collection of award-winning pieces. The gallery acquires various pieces awarded ribbons from the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts yearly competitions, and when a customer purchases the piece, she also receives the awarded ribbon along with her purchase.
This blogger was especially impressed with Indian River Gallery’s enormous collection of Southwestern and Native American jewelry. Again… all of which are hand-made. What really caught my eye was the stunning and surprisingly fashionable collection from Aldrich Jewelry. Fashion? At a Native American art gallery? Yes, it’s true. You’ll find this and so much more at Indian River Gallery.
Artists showcased at Indian River Gallery include up and coming artists as well as popular, highly acclaimed artists. And very month, Indian River Gallery features a different artist. To stay updated on events and featured artists, follow Indian River Gallery on Twitter and become a fan of their Facebook page. Currently available at the Indian River Gallery Facebook page is a 10% coupon, which is especially important as the gallery never hosts sales or discounts their merchandise.
Look for another upcoming Indian River Gallery special offer in the Country Music Awards’ ACM Souvenir Magazine on April 18. And visit the gallery’s website at IndianRiverGallery.com or stop by to see them personally at their location in the Miracle Mile in the South Hall. Be sure to tell them Go Shop Vegas sent you!
