Holiday Shopping in Las Vegas: Local Artists
After spending an evening at Las Vegas’ First Friday, an arts and entertainment festival that takes place the first Friday of every month, I realized what a great holiday gift shopportunity First Friday is. This was the last First Friday before the holidays, but there’s still opportunity to find special and artistic gifts by shopping directly from local Las Vegas artists. Here are some suggestions:
- Zen Fish Shoe Painting – Artist Steven McRae specializes in turning an ordinary pair of canvas shoes into something extraordinary. You can even give him a pair of your shoes and he’ll customize a design just for you. Contact him at 702-379-9492 or steventhefilmdude@yahoo.com.
- Art from Francois Dubeau – While Mr. Dubeau is actually from Montreal, his seductive pieces can be purchased through local art gallery Laura Henkel Fine Art at The Arts Factory. 702-952-9656 or www.laurahenkel.com.
- Pretty accessories from My Collette – Gorgeous, on-trend hair accessories and jewelry. Contact the artist directly and have a piece customized to suit your taste. 702-813-9308 or mycolletteaccessories@yahoo.com.
